Our Christmas activities collected over £1000 for Lothian Autistic Society

Our Charity of the Year sees the benefit of Christmas Card sales and our Grotto Bus.

During December we sold Christmas cards in our Travelshops and on our website to help raise funds for Lothian Autisic Society.

The money from the sale of these cards has been added to the donations received from members of the public when they visited Santa on our gold grotto bus to make a fantastic total of £1095.74.

Ian Craig, managing director, said:

I would like to thank everyone who donated and helped us raise this fantastic sum of money for Lothian Autistic Society. Everyone’s generosity was greatly appreciated and I am sure the money will be spent well.

This week we also gave the charity a further batch of DAYtickets to help volunteers and carers get around the City with the children, encouraging them to become more confident and independent.

Kirstin Armour, Lothian Autistic Society said:

We are overwhelmed by the support from Lothian Buses and we cannot thank them enough. This wonderful donation will be used in our various projects for the children and young people throughout the upcoming year. The donation of the DAYtickets has made a huge impact to the children as it means our volunteers are now able to take the kids’ on buses more regularly and use this experience to build their confidence.
