Our Prostate Scotland Awareness Campaign has been a Huge Success
We have raised £5000 for the charity!
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in Scotland.
Prostate Scotland is a charity set up to provide information, advice and help on prostate health and diseases of the prostate.
During October and November, Lothian Buses and our employees held various fund raising events including a 5 side a football competition, a concert performance by the Lothian B-us Choir, employees being sponsored to take part in Pedal for Scotland, a company wide ‘blue day’ and drivers growing moustaches.
We also raised awareness for the charity with our now famous 'blue bus' travelling on various routes across the City for the last few months.
Ian Craig said, managing director, said:
Everyone here has worked hard and had a great time supporting this important charity. For our staff to have managed to raise £5000 is a fantastic achievement.
Adam Gaines, Prostate Scotland said:
We would like to sincerely thank Lothian Buses and their entire staff team for raising such a fantastic amount in aid of Prostate Scotland – it is a most wonderful boost to the charity’s work. It will enable us to reach out further to thousands of people with information about prostate disease and cancer. Since the start of the awareness initiative with Lothian Buses there has been an noticeable increase in the number of people in the Edinburgh and the Lothians area looking at information about prostate disease, which is very encouraging. We have really valued the partnership with Lothian Buses and would like to pay tribute to them for their enthusiasm, support and commitment to helping increase awareness of prostate disease.
