We have won the VIBES Transport Award

Lothian Buses were among the 34 companies shortlisted at this year’s Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) awards.

The prestigious awards programme has been recognising the commitment, actions and achievements of Scottish companies in reducing their impact on the environment for nearly 13 years.?

This year’s VIBES shortlist included a diverse range of companies from across Scotland which have employed environmental best practice in their day-to-day activity to cut down on resource use, increase sustainability, improve reputation and benefit the company’s bottom-line.?

?The winners of this year’s nine categories were announced at a special ceremony on 29 November 2012 at The Glasgow Marriott Hotel.?

The Energy Saving Trust, Scotland, sponsored the VIBES Transport Award. The Transport Award acknowledges businesses that achieve measurable reductions in their environmental impacts through the introduction of sustainable transport and/or through measures that reduce the level of transport use within their operating environment.

Ian Craig, Managing Director said:

This award recognises three years of hard work to reduce our carbon footprint and significantly reduce air pollution in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Every part of our business is now more environmentally friendly and this award encourages us to continue our commitment and investment in this area.
